Ali Babacan Life

In the 58th cabinet of the Justice and Development Party, he served as the Minister of State in charge of economic affairs. (AKP). He remained in office through the Republic of Turkey's 58th and 59th governments. He was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey's 60th Government on August 29, 2007. He served as Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister for Economic and Financial Affairs from 2009 to 2015.

Ali Babacan was responsible for steering a tough economic revival initiative, which was backed by multibillion-dollar IMF loans; under his leadership, the Turkish economy saw a dramatic improvement after two major crises. He largely stayed away from the Turkish political arena and concentrated on economic reforms, seeming more like a technocrat.

Babacan resigned from the AKP in 2019, citing "deep differences" over the party's direction as a reason for the party's demise in 2020. Babacan, who also speaks English, is married and has three children.

Political life

He began serving as a co-founder and a board member of the Justice and Development Party in 2001 and was elected deputy for Ankara on November 3, 2002. He was named Minister of Finance on November 18, 2002, and became the cabinet's youngest member at the age of 35.

On May 24, 2005, Prime Minister Recep Erdoan announced his appointment as the country's top negotiator in Turkey's accession negotiations with the European Union, which began on October 3rd 2005. Several international meetings, including the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and the Bilderberg Group, were attended by government minister Babacan.

Babacan resigned as president of the United States in 2019, citing "deep contradictions" in the party's path as a motive.

During a late 2019 interview with journalist irin Payzn, Babacan revealed his intention to form this party, with a particular emphasis on minority rights, return to Turkey's parliamentary system, fair procedures in courts, and restoration freedom of expression. "The country will give our party its name," Babacan says.

He founded Democracy and Progress Party in Turkey on March 9, 2020, and he was referred to as "DEVA" or "remedy" in Turkish. The Deva Party held its first meeting of the Board of Founders on March 10, 2020, where he was unanimously elected Chairman.
