Mother-of-three, 45, who was mowed down and killed by BBC Proms cellist when he skidded on ice was the second person to die on same stretch of road in near identical circumstances, inquest hears

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 1, 2024
When his car in Dorset came out of a patch of frozen water, Adrian Brendel (left) lost control of it. Good Samaritan Natalie Mountford (right), a mother of three who had to assist Charley Mack (inset), was killed when they collided on the ice. Mr Brendel, a well-known claissic performer, was cleared of any wrongdoing after an inquest into Ms Mountford's death on December 18, 2022. However, the hearing brought a hazard to a nearly decade-long problem of run-off water draining down the road, which causes the hazard.

According to the inquest, the mother-of-three, 45, who stopped to help stranded motorists, was mowed down and killed by the world's top cellist after skiing on ice on the way home from a concert

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 8, 2024
An inquest heard that a mother-of-three who stopped to assist a homeless motorist was mowed down and killed by a world-leading cellist after his vehicle skidded on ice. Natalie Mountford, 45, was launched 30ft into the air and died at the site of the accident near Sturminster Newton, Dorset, on December 18, 2022. During his ride home from a concert in Oxford in the early hours of the morning, cellist Adrian Brendel, a visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music, lost track of his vehicle on ice. The 48-year-old, who has appeared on BBC Proms, swerved to avoid two cars blocking the road ahead, but instead collided with Ms Mountford. After her vehicle had crashed into a hedge, the mother-of-three had just pulled over to assist a young woman.
