After a spectacular finish in the AL East, Red Sox FIRE Dave Bush and Carlos Febles as pitching and third base coaches pay the bill

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 9, 2023
For the third time in the last four seasons, the Red Sox (78-84) finished last in the AL East. Since 2018, Bush had been instructing pitchers, while Febles was the third-base coach since 2018. Last week, before any changes to the team's staff were revealed, boss Alex Cora made it clear that the Red Sox are expected to raise the bar in terms of coaching experience with players next season.

During the PitchCom dispute, Astros star Justin Verlander is caught telling Red Sox boss Alex Cora to 'f*** off.'

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 23, 2023
Justin Verlander of the Boston Red Sox didn't hold back from striking out at Boston red Sox boss Alex Cora on Tuesday night. Verlander was overheard, telling the Red Sox skipper to 'f*** off' when he stepped onto the field during Houston's 7-3 victory over the Red Sox. The Astros pitcher had been having issues with his PitchCom unit and called off the game until a new one was ferried over to him on the field. Cora, clearly upset by the delay, came out of the dugout to argue for an automatic ball.

Rob Manfred, the MLB commissioner, has expressed disappointment over the Astros' handling of the sign-stealing scandal

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 22, 2023
Rob Manfred, the MLB commissioner, has expressed regret for the Astros' sign-stealing scandal, in which he largely gave players anonymity for their positions in the case. According to MLB investigators, the Astros used a monitor in the dugout that included a video stream from center field, allowing them to see the signs from the opposing catcher throughout the 2017 season (and postseason) and a portion of the 2018 regular season. Players in the dugout would bang on a garbage can with a bat to alert a teammate of an off-speed pitch.
