The Vegas Golden Knights made it clear that the Stanley Cup would be a complete whitewash, rather dismantled the Florida Panthers in Ga me 2. With a 7-2 victory on Monday night, the hosts blasted into a 2-0 series, establishing their kingship across the ice. And they were even more active than in Game 1; they couldn't be banned from playing.
With a 5-3 victory over the Panthers, the Golden Knights earned their first blood in Stanley Cup showdown

In Saturday night's Stanley Cup playoff race, the Vegas Golden Knights took a 1-0 series lead over the Florida Panthers. Adin Hill, the Golden Knights' goaltender, made perhaps the save of the playoffs when he reached back and extended his stick to prevent Florida's Nick Cousin from scoring and helping Vegas to draw first blood. Zach Whitecloud scored from long range with just over 13 minutes remaining to put Vegas ahead, but the penalty kill was followed by captain Mark Stone's insurance goal, which was reviewed for a high stick and confirmed.
The Stanley Cup Finals will be decided between an underdog Florida Panthers squad and a tenacious Vegas Golden Knights squad

Many hockey fans were not expecting a second all-Sun Belt Stanley Cup Final in NHL history. Boston was the best regular season squad in the league's history going into the playoffs. They were knocked out by the worst team that made it in. Canada wished that they would win their first Stanley Cup since 1993. Rather, the Jets were quickly dismissed and the Maple Leafs and Oilers' star power was snuffed out.
