Maisie Smith has been awarded her first major film role 18 months after being dropped from BBC soap Eastenders. In the forthcoming ganger film Bermondsey Tales: The Roman Empire's, the actress, 21, is said to be cast as a 'leading protagonist in a mobster family.' According to The Sun, she will appear alongside Alan Ford of Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, and Kidulthood's Adam Deacon, with filming scheduled to begin later this year.
