In Stoke Newington, Hackney, Deacon was rescued by his English mother. His father is Moroccan. When Deacon was two years old, his father walked out on the family, and to this day, there haven't been any contact.

Despite the fact that his acting career began with guest appearances in Bill's New Frock, Shooters, Ali G Indahouse, and The Bill, he also appeared in the 2004 ITV drama Wall of Silence. Deacon's breakthrough came after he was cast in the urban drama film Kidulthood. He then worked with film writer and director Noel Clarke on a number of other projects until 2011, including the sequel Adulthood, 4.3.2.1., and the one-off television pilot West 10 LDN.

Deacon co-wrote, co-directed, and appeared in the leading role in Anuva's urban comedy Anuvahood. Deacon "The New Star of Youth Cinema" was named in Time Out magazine as a result of this. He received the BAFTA Rising Star Award in February 2012.

Since appearing in numerous lead and supporting roles in feature films, including Bonded by Blood, Jack Falls, Shank, Everywhere, and Payback Season, Deacon has appeared in numerous lead and supporting roles. He appeared in Victim as a guest. In November 2012, he co-hosted the Music of Black Origin Awards telecast with Miquita Oliver, where Deacon appeared humiliate in the awards. As TK Nelson, he appeared in an episode of the BBC soap opera Doctors in May 2021.
