A woman is assigned to the parish in Dibley after the passing of the congregation's vicar. She becomes popular with the masses but is less so with the head of the Parish Council. The BBC series was written by Richard Curtis and Paul Mayhew-Archer.
The program ran for a total of 31 episodes over the course of its four-series run. In 2020, a special pandemic series ran with the title "The Vicar of Dibley in Lockdown."
