Career
Bora Spui Kvaka, a well-known folk singer in the former Yugoslavia, introduced Zorica to fame. She first encountered Novica Urosevic, a then unknown singer and composer who lives in Pozarevac, after 5 years of performing in pubs and restaurants, with whom she also has performed at the Hotel "Danube." He had performed with Tihomir Paunovia Tike's orchestra, but he was looking for new singers at the time, so this was Zorica's chance to record a song for Radio Television Belgrade. "Don't let them break us apart" was the first song recorded for PGP Radio Television Television Belgrade 20 January 1975, and it was a single with the title track " Ne daj rastave." This album was a huge success, and it was limited to 300 000 copies. Zorica's songs were often the most listened to on radio stations after that initial success. She has worked with Branimir Djokic's orchestra, resumed collaboration with accordionist Ljuba Kemi, her ex husband, and in 1985, she marries accordion player and arranger Miroljub Kemi, which has seen even greater success. She has worked for PGP RTB (later PGP RTS) in Belgrade, and Diskoton in Sarajevo, as well as Diskos in Aleksandrovac. She's developed artistic collaborations with several of her colleagues by recording duets or being a guest at their concerts. She took a break from singing for two years and then went on to record for the production firm's Gold, Grand, and VIP after the 5 October revolution. Among other things, she has appeared with the Orchestra of the Karic Brothers from her beginnings.
