Daniel Zildjian Garon Benitez (born April 23, 1997), also known as Zild Benitez, is a Filipino musician, producer, and singer-songwriter.

He is currently the lead vocalist, piano/keyboardist, synth player, and bassist of IV of Spades.

Personal life

Zild Benitez is the son of Frank Benitez, the former drummer of Hungry Young Poets and Barbie's Cradle. Zild spent his high school years at Don Alejandro Roces Sr. Science High School in Quezon City. In 2018, he graduated from De La Salle-College of St. Benilde. His program is entitled Bachelor of Arts in Music Production.

He became a commercial model for many brands in the Philippines, including Lucky Me! Pancit Canton, Coca-Cola, and Nido are among Pancit Canton's visitors. In addition, he appeared in "Got to Believe" as one of ABS-CBN's primetime programs.

Career

Allan Mitchell Silonga decided to form a band for his son Blaster, who would be the band's lead guitarist. Badjao de Castro, and bassist Zildjian "Zild" Benitez, Allan's nephews, were able to recruit drummer Badjao de Castro and bassist Zildjian "Zild" Benitez. Unique Salonga, Benitez's churchmate who was already writing his own music, was recruited to be the band's lead singer.

The band later signed to Warner Music Philippines and released their first song, "Ilaw sa Daan," in the Philippines.

The annual Myx Music Awards named IV of Spades as the New Artist of the Year and the MYX Bandarito Performance of the Year on Sunday, as well as Group of the Year. The band also received the Dreams Come True With Air Asia competition, the airline's search for the most promising performers in the region. As part of their award, the band performed with David Foster. At the 30th annual Awit Awards, they also received the Favorite New Group award.

After their former lead vocalist Unique Salonga left to pursue "personal projects," Benitez now assumes the responsibility as the lead vocalist. The band's debut studio album, ClapClapClap!, was released on January 18, 2019.

He is also a member of One Click Straight, with Tim Marquez of One Click Magic.

In the noontime show Eat Bulaga!, Benitez competed for the title "Music Hero" on August 13, 2016. He had originally received the "Bass Hero" award, but after IV of Spades' ascension to fandom, he and his bandmate, Blaster Silonga, who also won the "Electric Guitar Hero" series, lost their titles and gave it up.

Benitez released the music video of "Sinungaling" on YouTube on June 12, 2020. On July 9, 2020, he and its music video were both released "Dila" a few weeks later. "Homework Machine," his debut solo album on August 6, 2020. It features "Sinungaling" and "Dila," two of which were not announced before.

Benitez has signed a contract with Rico Blanco's label/management Balcony Entertainment.

"Kyusi" was released on YouTube on February 10, 2021, Benitez's music video "Kyusi" was released on February 10, 2021. On February 25, he revealed that "Kyusi" and "Apat" would be included in his forthcoming album "Huminga," which was announced on April 8, 2021.

Benitez began to write his own songs using the COVID-19 pandemic's isolation time, according to his Spotify profile.

Benitez officially signed with UMG Philippines through the Island Records Philippines brand in August 2022.
