Justin Verlander wins for the first time with the New York City, while Anthony Volpe earns his first grand slam in his career

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 11, 2023
Justin Verlander pitched seven innings of two-hit ball for his first victory with the Mets, and Pete Alonso hit his major league-leading 13th home run as New York eked out a 2-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday night. Brandon Nimmo had three hits, including a go-ahead single in the fourth, to help the Mets win for the fourth time in 16 games. Verlander had never lost Cincinnati, the only MLB team to have never been defeated. With at least one victory over all 30 current clubs, the three-time Cy Young Award winner became the 21st pitcher in big league history. Gerrit Cole, Zack Greinke, and teammate Max Scherzer were the only active pitchers to do it.

MLB Opening Day: Where can I watch? What are the big games? What are the best bets?

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 30, 2023
Congratulations, you've made it. The baseball offseason is over, and we're going full steam ahead of Opening Day on Thursday. Pitchers from all 30 MLB clubs will take the field in just a few hours, with fresh optimism and renewed hope that this is going to be *their* year. There have been a slew of changes, none of which we'll discuss here, but there is certainly more excitement among fans than ever before.
