Natasha Binder, Jess Crossman in Drop Zone, and Detective Sara Pezzini of the TNT supernatural drama series Witchblade are known for her appearances.

Early life

Yancy Butler was born in Greenwich Village in Manhattan, the daughter of Leslie Vega, a theatre company's owner, and Joe Butler, the drummer and vocalist for the 1960s rock band The Lovin' Spoonful, respectively.

Career

Butler's first big role was in the television series Mann & Machine, in which she played an android police officer alongside a human detective. In the near future, the film would be shot in Los Angeles. Dick Wolf co-created the series. She appeared in her second series, South Beach, in which she played a con artist and robber who worked with the federal government; in exchange for their wiping of her criminal records, she does specific jobs for them.

Butler's first film appearance was in the 1979 slasher film Savage Weekend. In John Woo's 1993 film, Hard Target, she had a starring role. She appeared in the 1994 film Drop Zone. Corinne the dancer appeared in the film Let It Be Me in 1995. Butler appeared in the CBS television series Brooklyn South as Anne-Marie Kersey, a Brooklyn policewoman, and appeared on ABC television shows from 1997 to 1998.

Butler appeared in the television film Witchblade (2000) and the resulting television series, which was based on the same popular comic book; the film ran on Turner Network Television network for two seasons and featured 23 episodes. The series has a following and was ranked ninth in the Top 10 Basic Cable Dramas for 2002. After the second season of September 2002, the show's cancellation was announced.

Butler appeared in the film Bloodlines in 2005. It was renamed Striking Range in 2006 for distribution purposes. Ava Jenkins appeared in 13 episodes of the television soap opera As the World Turns in 2007. She was confirmed to appear in Tales of an Ancient Empire, the sequel to The Sword and the Sorcerer. Tales of an Ancient Empire was released on DVD on January 24, 2012. Butler, on the other hand, did not appear in the film. She appeared in a small role in another comic-book adaptation, the film version of Kick-Ass.
