A new Netflix rom-com has been slammed as 'the worst movie of the year' after its unconventional ending left viewers scratching their heads. Mother of the Bride was released on the streaming giant on May 9, and features an all-star ensemble cast, including Brooke Shields , Miranda Cosgrove, Chad Michael Murray and Benjamin Bratt. Also starring in the film are Rachael Harris (Suits), Michael McDonald (MADtv), Wilson Cruz (My So-Called Life), Tasneem Roc (The Bureau of Magical Things), and Dalip Sondhi (Frayed). The movie, executive produced by Shields and directed by Mean Girls and Freaky Friday director Mark Waters was shot on location in Thailand for six weeks. Brooke Shields, 58, stars as Lana, the jittery helicopter mother to her calm daughter, Emma, played by former Nickelodeon star Miranda Cosgrove, 30.
