Prosecutive cancer is the most common cancer in men - one out of every eight men will be diagnosed with it. Men have been called to be tested for the disease from middle age, mainly using a prostate specific antigen (PSA) blood test. PSA is a protein produced by the prostate gland, located below the bladder, and its amount in the blood can show doctors how healthy it is. This assessment is, however, far from perfect, as PSA levels can be affected by a variety of causes, including exercise, sexual development, an elevated prostate, constipation, and infection.
