Scientists in Australia discovered the megalodon ancestor's tooth and over 750 other fossilised teeth in a shark graveyard at the bottom of the Indian Ocean. The teeth appear to have come from modern sharks, such as mako and white sharks, but also ancient sharks, including the ancestor of the giant megalodon shark, according to Dr. Glenn Moore, curator of Fishes at the Western Australian Museum. "This shark developed into the megalodon, the world's largest shark, but it died out about 3.5 million years ago."
