According to the academy's press release, actress Viola Davis was one of the celebrities to lend their help for the inaugural Black Love, Inc. Inaugural Black Love Brunch Hosted by Niecy Nash-Betts at the Hudson Loft in Downtown Los Angeles. The awards program honors the contributions of culture-shifting personalities who are committed to supporting love in all its six categories: Self Love, Partnership, Community Impact, Wellbeing, Storytelling, and Icons. Davis and husband Julius Tennon, Kendrick Sampson, Lauren London, Erica Campbell, and husband DeVon Franklin were among the honorees this year.
