Victor Salva Life

Victor Ronald Salva (born March 29, 1958) is an American filmmaker and convicted of child violence.

He is best known for his film "Powders Creepers (1995) and Jeepers Creepers (2001).

The second of these was turned into a franchise with two sequels that he has also directed. After being arrested in 1988 for allegedly violating the sexual abuse of a 12-year-old male actor in one of his films, Clownhouse, videotaping himself in the act of doing so, and selling commercial videotapes and magazines containing child pornography, his continuing work in filmmaking became tense.

Early life

Salva was born in Martinez, California, and was raised as a Roman Catholic. Salva's biological father left the family, and his stepfather was an alcoholic and physically violent man.

Salva's adolescent Salva was captivated by horror and sci-fi; his favorite monster film was Creature from the Black Lagoon, and, in 1975, the local newspaper announced that Salva had sat through Jaws 55 times. Salva had written and directed more than 20 short and feature films by the time he graduated from high school. He had two jobs during the week to fund his filmmaking hobby. Salva's family disapproved him at 18 after he came out as gay to his mother and stepfather.

Victor Salva Career

Early career

At the Sony/AFI Home Video Competition in the mid-1980s, his 37-minute short film Something in the Basement (1986) claimed first place in the fiction section. Salva's first dramatic feature, Clownhouse (1989), was a horror allegory of a young boy struggling to recover from a bloody war, which brought Salva's attention to Francis Ford Coppola, who later produced Salva's first theatrical feature, Clownhouse (1989), which Salva also wrote and directed.

Later career

Salva's career took a hiatus after his debut – he didn't make another film for five years. During the week, he worked as a telemarketer and wrote scripts over the weekend, ostensibly delivering them to well-known producers while posing as a delivery boy.

Salva's next film, The Nature of the Beast (1995), a direct-to-video mystery horror film that Salva wrote and directed, was The Nature of the Beast (1995). Lance Henriksen and Eric Roberts appeared in the film. Salva based the film's characters on people he encountered in jail.

Salva's first big-studio film, Powder (1995), the tale of an albino boy with extraordinary powers that make him an outcast. Salva's conviction became known to the public at the time of the film's release when his killer came forward, calling for the film's boycott. Officials from Disney said they learned of Salva's murder only after it was first introduced.

Salva's next film, Rites of Passage (1999), a coming-of-age drama. The film portrays a homophobic father who accidentally pushes his gay son into the arms of a psychotic killer.

Salva created and directed Jeepers Creepers, a smash hit and set a new record for the largest Labor Day box-office ever. Salva continued his work with Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003), breaking his old record and setting another Labor Day record. Principal photography for Jeepers Creepers 3, which was released in September of that year, began in February 2017.

Peaceful Warrior (2006), Dan Millman's semi-autobiographical book Way of the Peaceful Warrior, was his next film after Jeepers Creepers 2. The film depicts a young gymnast's mental and physical struggles as a result of Nick Nolte's tutelage as a mysterious spiritual guide.

For his films Rosewood Lane (2011) and Dark House (2014), he returned to the horror-thriller and supernatural powers themes.

Salva's films in 2001 were described as "atmospheric and macabre," with no happy endings, but not to be taken seriously."

Don't mess with the original! From a horror version of Winnie-the-Pooh to a 'woke' Peter Pan, we have the worst ever film remakes

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 20, 2023
The Little Mermaid earned a respectable $542 million worldwide, but analysts fear that big Disney hits will easily break the $1 billion mark, with commentators claiming that viewers have grown out of live action remakes of the studio's classic 1980s and 1990s cartoons. FEMAIL is releasing the worst film remakes, ranging from JM Barrie's latest version to a Netflix gender-swapped version of She's All That.

Jeepers Creepers' revival is greeted with a dissatisfied report

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 1, 2022
Fans and commentators alike have sluggishly regarded Jeepers Creepers' 2022 revival, insisting that the product 'will never be the same'. Timo Vuorensola's latest instalment of the 2001 series was taken over by Timo Vuorensola after the original director Victor Salva was dismissed after his 1988 arrest for molesting a 12-year-old boy was widely reported. Some fans of the 2001 original and its sequel Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003) have sluggishly argued against certain of the changes made by Vuorensola, citing'sloppy' CGI's production, as well as a 'non-sensical' plot among the film's flaws. However, it is the reimagined Creeper, the central villain, that has received some of the most scathing feedback, with some moviegoers saying that it has reduced the film to a'slasher film.'
