The roost has been ruled by a magnificent interactive map from the Great Pyramid of Giza to Dubai's gleaming Burj Khalifa... but a building in LINCOLN ruled the roost for 200 years

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 24, 2024
The Great Pyramid in Giza ruled as the world's tallest structure for nearly 4,000 years. It was originally standing at 480 feet and was built as a tomb for Egyptian pharaoh King and remains a majestic structure. But in 1311, when the majestic Lincoln Cathedral was completed, the pyramid lost its majestic status. It was the world's biggest behemoth and stayed so until 1549. A number of buildings and structures have fought for the world's tallest in decades since, including the Eiffel Tower and the Empire State Building. Burj Khalifa, the current holder of Dubai's 2,722feet, is the current holder, but another shining example of Middle Eastern prowess will be overtaken shortly. When completed, Jeddah Tower will stand at 3,281 feet, making it the first building in history to surpass 1 km. MailOnline has created an incredible interactive map that shows the tallest buildings since the Great Pyramid was completed in 2570 BC.

Whenever a video of Hanan Ameur and Harrison Donnelly (left) sparked rioting this morning, they were seen hammering the glass of the priceless oil painting, shouting, 'it is time for deeds not words.' Both have had previous encounters with the legislation punishing property on behalf of Just Stop Oil. Ameur, 22, (top right) appeared in court last week after being charged with storming during Les Miserables' appearance in London's West End. She and four other protesters allegedly appeared on stage at the Sondheim Theatre last month and waved the climate change organization's banners, bringing the event to a halt. Donnelly, 20, (bottom right) was charged with criminal damage of a building last month after he reportedly splatted orange paint and hand prints over the University of Birmingham library's front door before staging a sit-down protest under a Just Stop Oil banner.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Hypocrite: Just Stop Oil eco-clown who invaded Les Miserables to the fury of £175-a-ticket audience once starred in a musical himself

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 6, 2023
Noah Crane's struggle through One More Angel in Heaven during Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat's creation in less than two years ago, MailOnline has unearthed a video of him struggling through One More Angel in Heaven. In December 2021, Crane, who is now on his gap year with Just Stop Oil as a'recruiter,' was playing Joseph's father Jacob. He returned to Aylsham High School after the production was postponed due to Covid. However, MailOnline revealed today that the teen was one of five eco-killjoys who stopped Les Mis at the Sondheim Theatre in Shaftesbury Avenue on Wednesday night, ruining the performance for a crowd who had paid up to £175 for a seat and traveling from across the United Kingdom and overseas to be there. Crane, who described himself as a "theatre lover," said he took action because he knows there will be no future for the arts if society fails under the pressures of climate change.' The demonstrators soared on to stage from the most expensive seats in the house and unfurled their banners, screaming, 'join the rebellion'. As one of the eco-killjoys, an American theatregoer yelled, 'F*** you' as one of the eco-killjoys' gave a monologue about'society collapsing.'

I have been revived: Les Misérables' performance was halted by a zealot who had to cancel

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 5, 2023
Last night, a young café employee from an upscale market town, a graduate who threw paint over the Scottish Parliament, and a new recruit protested the West End stage. The audience had erupted after the actors belted out Do You Hear the People Sing out. The demonstrators erupted, yelling 'join the movement' as they arrived on stage and unfurled their banners. When the police arrived, security closed the stage, pulled the curtains down, and forced the evacuation of the building. With booing and cries of 'You disgust me,' the theatregoers drowned out the JSO's chanting. "Get off you stupid people," another angry punter yelled. How dare you.' 'You naughty people, you naughty people,' a third screamed at a point.' Noah Crane (top right), who just completed his studies at the Catholic Notre Dame Sixth Form in Norwich and is looking to work as a JSO recruiter, was confirmed on stage by MailOnline. Hannah Taylor, 23, (bottom left) was one of protesters with him. After the Scottish Parliament was dipped in paint, the maths graduate appeared in court in Scotland recently. Poppy Bliss (top left), a well-heeled Bury St Edmunds worker, was also on stage. Hanan, a JSO newbie, was the fourth individual (bottom right).

Do you hear the people groan?Just Stop Oil shut down performance of Les Misérables during climax of signature tune and lock themselves to the stage as crowd boo eco-activists and shout 'how dare you!'

Four people were'locked to the stage of the French revolution-themed display,' the group said in a tweet.' 'Valjean steals bread to feed a starving child,' it was said. Six reasons why you NEED to visit Guernsey this autumn, from 27 stunning beaches to WWII time capsules and sea views that inspired French painter Renoir

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 14, 2023
Guernsey is the second-largest of the Channel Islands, lying in the English Channel about 30 miles from the French coast, and it comes with more than a soupcon of Gallic flair. In September and November, Jersey, Guernsey, averages a balmy 61 degrees Fahrenheit (16 degrees Celsius), so it's still warm enough for walks along the beach or island hopping to the car-and-crowd-free sanctuaries of Sark and Herm, but there are plenty of bars and museums to duck into if the weather takes a turn.

The Chic List: Why I'm a Gallic girl at heart

JOANNE HEGARTY: We all have a place where we could imagine living in another world. J'habite à Paris, in my fantasy world. I speak French like the locals, and my apartment has a charming balcony with the Eiffel Tower waving at me from afar. Every morning, I eat croissants (but not insignificantly, never gained weight) accompanied by a strong cup of coffee. And I drink red wine with my two-hour lunch every day. I simply adore Paris, and if there is a chance, I'm there.

The joys of Jersey, 'the bit of France that fell in the sea and was picked up by Britain'

Jersey has'much of the familiar' about it, but there is a slew of things that seems far flung, exotic even', according to Martin Symington. One of the highlights of the RIB's trip to the Ecclebeth archipelago, which is so far away that few people in the United Kingdom have heard of it.

Author Patricia Nicol reveals a selection of the best books on: Revolution

The French love a ruckus. The first sign of a infringement of their rights is shown on the boulevards, and they take to the streets. The nation has been protesting a proposed increase in the pension age from 62 to 64. This is still lower than in the majority of industrialized nations, though it is 66 here. J'adore France, the French, and their obdurate willingness to say 'non'. Collective protests seem to be more part of their DNA than our'mustn't grumble' policy (when doing exactly that).
