Vice Ganda Life

José Marie Viceral (born March 31, 1976), also known as Vice Ganda (lit.) "Beautiful Vice"), a Filipino comedian, television presenter, actor, and singer.

He has appeared in many films, eight of which are deemed as the best-grossing in Philippine cinema, as a regular host-judge.

He is also the first openly gay endorser for Globe Telecom.

Early life

Vice Ganda was known as "Tutoy" before heading out to his family and relatives, which was his nickname as a young boy. Vice Ganda, the youngest of five children, grew up in Manuguit, Tondo, Philippines, along José Abd Santos Street. His father, a native of Taysan, Batangas, and a barangay captain in Tondo, Manila, was killed as a youth, prompting his mother, an Ilocana from San Juan, La Union, to leave her children to work abroad as a caregiver. Ganda was able to continue his studies thanks to a scholarship awarded by an unidentified Japanese woman who sponsored his education from third grade to second year college. He studied political science at Far Eastern University, but he was unable to finish his studies in order to pursue his studies in order to pursue his career.

Personal life

Vice Ganda has no objections being asked with masculine or feminine pronouns, assuring as non-binary. Throughout his career, he has campaigned for queer rights and representation.

Vice Ganda is said to have suffered from depression as a result of job stress and personal problems. "Anyway follow your dreams, no matter how big or wild they are," his mentor told him. Since November 2018, he has been in a relationship with Ion Perez, a member of the supporting cast of It's Showtime. On his YouTube vlog posted on February 13, 2022, he revealed that he and Perez celebrated their wedding reception at The Little Vegas Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 19, 2021.

During the 2016 Philippine elections, Vice Ganda supported Davao mayor Rodrigo Duterte for president, and he has been invited to visit Gandang Gabi, Vice President Robert Correo. For the 2022 Philippine elections, he recommended Vice President Leni Robredo for president, claiming that "Tayo dapat ang manalo" refers to him. Si Leni Robredo sa atin, sa magpapanalo. The namo na natin talo. ng isa natin ang isa't-isa napan naman natin isa't-isa. We should win. We will triumph thanks to Leni Robredo's victory. We've been losing for so long. Vice Ganda began as a singer and then as a comedian for Punchline and The Library in Manila, whose owner Andrew de Real gave him the stage name "Vice Ganda." He was introduced by Hans Mortel, Malate's "Godfather of Malate" and "King of Comedy Bars" who had been his mentor for his comedy skits. He spent several years in the comedy clubs honing his craft. After appearing on television and newspaper columns, his career began to expand. Chokoleit, Pooh, John Lapus, and Rey Kilay perform alongside fellow comedians Chokoleit, Pooh, John Lapus, and Rey Kilay. Ganda is best known for his observational comedy and situational irony skits. In 1999, a talent hunter and now a fellow television comedian and boss Ogie Diaz discovered Ganda in one of his visits to the comedy bars. Antonia was the first actor to appear in the Judy Ann Drama Special, which was broadcast live by the huge television network ABS-CBN. In Sa Paraiso ni Efren, a Regal Films film, he appeared on a cameo. Ganda debuted as one of the guests on Comedy Central Market on GMA Network in 2010 and became a guest performer for the same network, SOP. He appeared in "O Diva" and "Birit Queen" in Eat Bulaga!, the longest-running noontime show in the Philippines, in 2002. Since then, he has appeared or appeared in numerous television shows of ABS-CBN, including M.R.S. Maala Mo Kaya (Most Requested Show) and various roles in a drama anthology. Vice Ganda's biggest breakthrough came when he joined It's Showtime, a talent search service that ABS-CBN's premier talent search service, which launched in October 2009. Long Mejia, a comedian, was turned down by the time until he was compelled to replace Mejia as an unelectable judge. With this work break, Ganda's life tale of being bullied as a young, closeted homosexual has also been included in Maala Mo Kaya's drama anthology. He gained a following in 2010 thanks to his comedies and sarcasm. He was one of Judy Ann Santos and Sarah Geronimo's supporting cast members on "Hating Kapatid." He starred in his first film, a remake of the 1988 comedy film Petrang Kabayo, starring Roderick Paulate. At its debut, the film became one of the best-selling Filipino film of 2010. "May Nag-Text" was the name of Ganda's first major concert in the country in the same year. Vice Ganda sa Araneta" was held at the Araneta Coliseum.

In 2011, he hosted Gandang Gabi, Vice!, his own Sunday talk show, which ended in 2020. He received the Bert Marcelo Achievement Award for Excellence in Comedy at the 2011 GMMSF Box-Office Entertainment Awards in the same year. He has appeared on television shows including Your Song, 100 Days to Heaven, and I Dare You. At the Araneta Coliseum, Ganda's second major concert, "Eto Na: Vice Ganda, Todong Sample sa Araneta," sold out.

He top-billed the film The Unkabulable Praybeyt Benjamin, directed by Wenn V. Deramas, in 2012. The film became the first local film to gross 300 million pesos in ticket sales, and it was a much bigger box office hit than Petrang Kabayo. Ganda also appeared in the Filipino comedy film This Guy's in Love with U Mare. Luis Manzano and Toni Gonzaga's film "Viva Films" was produced by Deramas under the influence of Star Cinema and Viva Films. Together with Kris Aquino and Ai de las Alas, Ganda appeared on his first ever Metro Manila Film Festival entry, Sisterakas, a Filipino parody film produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films in 2012. The film became the highest-grossing Filipino film of 2012 and is now the third highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.

In 2013, he appeared in another hit film alongside Maricel Soriano called Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy, which was the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival's official entry. At the 2014 Philippine Movie Press Club Star Awards for Movies, Ganda received a Best Actor nomination at the MMFF, as well as his Movie Actor Of The Year award. (PMPC). "I-Vice Ganda Mo Ko sa Araneta," a live concert that sparked controversy with GMA News head journalist Jessica Soho, took place in the same year.

In 2014, Star Cinema released The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin, the official entry to the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival and a sequel to a 2011 film of the same name. Ganda appeared alongside actress Alex Gonzaga and actors Richard Yap and James "Bimby" Aquino-Yap. Wenn V. Deramas produced the film, which became the country's highest grossing Filipino film of 2014.

Beauty and the Bestie, a official entry for the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival directed by Wenn V. Deramas, was released in 2015. Coco Martin, James Reid, and Nadine Lustre appeared in the film Ganda. The film debuted as the most high-grossing Filipino film of 2015.

Ganda appeared in an action comedy film The Super Parental Guardians starring Coco Martin in 2016. Joyce Bernal is the film's producer and it is part of Star Cinema. This is Ganda's third straight highest-grossing film after it topped the 2016 year-end box office gross in Philippine cinema. The film also set a record for the highest opening day grossing of all Filipino films, with a total budget of 75 million. He and his fellow stars, Angel Locsin and Robin Padilla, appeared in the Pinoy Boyband Superstar with Aga Muhlach Constantino and Sandara Park in the same year.

He appeared in another Metro Manila Film Festival entry named Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad in 2017, alongside Daniel Padilla and 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach. This is Ganda's fourth consecutive highest-grossing film of the year. Outside of his film, he also produced two major concerts in the same year; the first is the sold-out concert "Pusuan Mo si Vice Ganda, Florida, San Diego, and Los Angeles, California, with the second being the grand opening concert of his own make-up business, Vice Cosmetics.

He appeared in Fantastica, a 2018 Filipino fantasy film starring Barry Gonzales, as well as an official entry to the annual Metro Manila Film Festival. Bela Padilla, Richard Gutierrez, and Dingdong Dantes are among the ensemble cast members. The film was the second highest-grossing Filipino film of all time, and it came in second on the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.

The Mall, The Merrier, which was co-billed by Ganda and Anne Curtis in 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival entry. This was the first time he did not have a top-office of the said film festival and ended up second second place behind Miracle in Cell No. 7. At the Araneta Coliseum, Ganda hosted his first-ever duo concert with Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez titled "The Songbird and the Song Horse." On February 14-16, 2019, the concert was a huge success and had a run for three shows in a row.

Everybody, Sing!, which took over his own talk show Gandang Gabi, Vice!, in June 2021, then returned to television for its second season in September 2022. He performed his first ever digital pay-per-view concert, "Gandemic: The VG-tal Concert," in Sky Cable, despite the restrictions placed on the COVID pandemic. After a few months, and after the loosening of limits, Ganda's "Vax Ganda: A Dose Of Laughter" at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California, and Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, were back on stage for his show "Vax Ganda: A Dose Of Laughter."

Along with vlogger Ivana Alawi, Ganda is expected to return to the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival in the movie Partners in Crime under Star Cinema.
