A star-studded crop of celebrities are rumoured to have signed up for the all star version of The Traitors.  Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, the spin-off series will see the group compete in the psychological challenge to try to uncover who 'the traitors' are in order to win a cash prize.  And it seems the BBC are on their way to securing a bumper crop of celebs - with Courteney Cox, Ricky Gervais, Tom Daley and Tess Daly and Vernon Kay amongst the names rumoured to appear on the series.

Alex Scott hit the town to celebrate her 40th birthday in style on Tuesday with her friends and family.  The presenter brushed off fears that her future on the BBC's Football Focus has been 'thrown into doubt' after low ratings as she partied the night away.  Alex is thought to have made a complaint to channel bosses last year after being 'deeply hurt' by the channel's response to criticism she faced. 

Vernon Kay has admitted his daughters, Phoebe and Amber, and wife Tess Daly recently 'shouted' at him over a family issue. The TV presenter, 50, said he even had to apologise after the one-sided matter, as he shared a rare insight into their family life.

Alex Scott's future at the BBC has reportedly been thrown into doubt, with sources claiming she's been 'deeply hurt' by a 'lack of support' surrounding Football Focus. The presenter, 40, is thought to have made a complaint to channel bosses last year after being 'deeply hurt' by the channel's response to criticism she faced around the show's low viewing figures.  According to The Sun, Alex is now thought to be 'considering other offers,' and is even considering a move to the US with girlfriend Jess Glynne as her BBC contract is up for renewal next year.

They will join Ade Adepitan MBE, Mel Giedroyc, Chris Ramsay and Lenny Rush to take viewers through a star-studded evening of fun and and fundraising.

Johnnie Walker confirmed the end of an era on Sunday after announcing his departure from BBC Radio 1, some 55-years after making his debut. London was swinging, Carnaby Street was the epicentre of cool and Johnnie Walker was just 24-years old when he hosted his first two-hour Saturday show with the broadcasting giant in April 1969. But he will now draw a line under this lengthy association with the BBC, aged 79, as he battles idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a rare and progressive illness that affects the respiratory system.

While passing the baton to Vernon for his mid-morning show, the 53-year-old presenter was eager to know what type of morning person he was.  Revealing that he, Tess, 55, and his daughters were all early risers, Vernon went on to share why he didn't need an alarm in the mornings. 

Vernon Kay has admitted that when he met Tess Daly he was so skint that she had to pay for their first six dates, in a frank confession during Thursday's Loose Women. The TV and radio star, 50, appeared on a special episode of the ITV show today called Loose Women and Men, which saw regular panellists Denise Welch and Judi Love be joined by Vernon and Martin Kemp .

It's been a stressful month for BBC Radio 2 after Zoe Ball's mysterious six week absence from her breakfast show.  And while the veteran presenter, 53, returned on Monday, the station was plunged into chaos once again on Tuesday as Vernon Kay was forced off air under doctors orders.  The DJ, who presents the show after Zoe from 9:30am until midday, was replaced by Gaby Roslin after he came down with a nasty sore throat. 

Pest control reports seen by Mail Online show the News Cafe, which serves food and drink to staff and talent including Alex Jones, Zoe Ball and Vernon Kay, had a persistent problem with the insects. Some of the documents, five of which are from the last 12 months, also indicate invasions of fruit flies and filter flies attracted by dirty drains, rotten skirting boards and mouldy walls. Cockroaches breed fast and can spread food poisoning bugs salmonella and E. Coli. They also trigger asthma and allergies by shedding body parts and faeces.

Scott Mills was forced to endure a marathon presenting slot on BBC Radio 2 on Thursday morning, as Vernon Kay ended up being late to present his show due to train delays. Having already stood in for Zoe Ball on his breakfast show, Scott remained on air for another 80 minutes after receiving a voice note from Vernon, who confirmed that he was still 'stuck on the platform' waiting for his train to arrive. Scott, who on Wednesday was crowned the winner of Celebrity Race Across The World, surprised listeners who were tuning into Vernon's mid-morning show.

The new ITV show (pictured left), which aired on televisions across the UK on Tuesday evening, follows 10 amateur clothes designers as they compete to win a job as a fashion designer at high street giant M&S. Meanwhile, in BBC's Sewing Bee (pictured right), amateur sewers compete to impress judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young and win the title of Britain's best amateur sewer, as well as a trophy. The big prize for ten amateur fashion designers in Dress The Nation is a job at Marks and Spencer. 'We want someone to think slightly outside the box,' said M&S marketing chief Anna Braithwaite. 'At M&S it is all about pushing the boundaries.' Wait, are we talking about the same Marks and Spencer here? The one that shoppers love for being reliable rather than radical? The quiz show's second series aired in the summer but it has now been revealed it has been commissioned for another two instalments. Again set to be filmed in Glasgow, applications for DJ Ken's show are already open for people to apply for its third and fourth series. Viewers can prepare for more music mayhem and more opportunities for pop experts to show off their knowledge skills. It's time to get your glitter and dancing shoes ready as Strictly is officially back for the 20th anniversary series.  After a year plagued by scandal amid the BBC's misconduct investigation, the show returned with all the bells and whistles on Saturday night as loyal viewers tuned in.  With 15 new celebrity couples set to take to the dancefloor, the pairings were revealed during the launch show as the series officially kicked off. 

The daytime TV presenter, 47, will be one of the judges on new ITV1 show M&S: Dress the Nation, hosted by AJ Odudu and Vernon Kay. She will be joined by podcaster Vogue Williams, former Lioness Alex Scott, ex footballer Ian Wright and fashion guru Bella Freud on the rotating panel, as the retailer embarks on a nationwide search for its next top designer. Lingerie model Rosie, 37, has worked with Marks and Spencer for the past 13 years while Football Focus host Alex, 39, launched her first campaign, an activewear collection with the high street giant, last week. Over the course of six episodes, AJ and Vernon will set 10 candidates various challenges to assess their commerciality, business acumen and design flair and it will be the celebrity judges that decide who remains in the competition.

Alex Jones shared an insight into her summer holiday with an adorable family album posted to Instagram on Wednesday. The presenter, 47, shared a series of snaps showcasing her busy summer after she took a brief absence from BBC's The One Show to move house.  In one photo, Alex shared a gorgeous swimsuit selfie showcasing her cleavage and tan in a quirky pink swimsuit covered with a lobsters.

The star-studded spin-off of the BBC's hit game show recently entered production and while little is known about the project yet, bosses have reportedly signed up a pair of celebrities to act as a duo. The move is in a similar vein to Diane and Ross from the civilian edition of the series last year, who, unbeknownst to the other contestants, were mother and son.

Vernon Kay left his BBC Radio 2 co-host Scott Mills astonished after he revealed how he first met his wife Tess Daly. During Friday's show Vernon, 50, took a trip down the memory lane and fondly recalled how we met his beloved wife of 21 years, Tess. As Britney Spears' Stronger faded away on the radio, he shared that the couple had starred in a spoof video for the pop icon's banger Baby One More Time for 2000s music show Top of the Pops@play.  

Two beloved ITV quiz shows are finally returning to ITV after a long-running break.

Three programmes dedicated to the late DJ will air on Radio 2 from 2pm until 8pm on Monday, August 26. Vernon Kay, Paul Gambaccini , and Liza Tarbuck will each host one of the shows in celebration of the life and career of the legendary broadcaster. Wright died aged 69 from a ruptured ulcer in his stomach at his £2million home in London on February 12. It led to an outpouring of grief and tributes from colleagues and friends who hailed him as 'one of the greatest exponents of the art of radio' and a 'lovely kind man'.

Paris 2024 draws to an end on Sunday after almost two weeks of intense competition across the world's greatest sporting disciplines - and as of the end of Saturday Britain is sixth in the medal table with 63, including 14 golds (Keely Hodgkinson, inset bottom). To celebrate the country's Olympic success, the National Lottery is staging a grandiose homecoming event for athletes at the AO Arena in Manchester on August 17, to be witnessed in person by 6,000 people who won tickets in a ballot. But for those not lucky enough to scoop the prized briefs, the entire performance - featuring the likes of Clean Bandit, Jess Glynne (top right), Pete Tong and Rag'n'Bone Man (bottom right) - will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on August 18, hosted by Emma Willis and Vernon Kay (inset top).

The Love Islander, 25, couldn't wipe the smile off her face as she cut a sporty appearance in a simple black long-sleeved gym top and matching leggings.  The reality star, who wears a cochlear implant, will be the second deaf contestant to appear on the show after Rose Ayling-Ellis lifted the glitterball trophy back in 2021.
