Damien Bendall (left) admitted that he killed Lacey Bennett, 11, her brother John Paul Bennett, 13, and their mother Terri Harris, 35 (all top-right), as well as an 11-year-old Connie Gent (bottom-right) in Killamarsh, Derbyshire last year. Despite the charge not being indictment, he denied murder and attempted to plead guilty to manslaughter by devolving responsibility. That was not allowed by the trial, and therefore a new trial date was scheduled for November 24. Bendall also pleaded not guilty to a rape charge in connection with Lacey despite wearing a grey jail tracksuit.
