Trindon Holliday Career

High school career

At Pride, Louisiana, Holliday went both ways. Holliday did not join the football team until his junior year due to his short stature. He rushed for 1,870 yards and scored 26 touchdowns in his first season. Holliday had even better results in his senior year, throwing 34 touchdowns and average 27.6 yards per punt return.

In high school, Holliday was also a track runner. In 2005, Holliday ran the nation's fastest indoor time in 55 and 60 meters. He led his team into the 2A state championship by winning the 100 meters and 200 meters in the long jump and placing second in the long jump. Holliday was a four-time state champion in the 200 meters and a three-time 100 meters champion.

College career

From 2006 to 2009, Holliday played football for the LSU Tigers football team. He had eight touchdowns in his career: four rushing, two on punt returns, and two on kick returns.

Holliday, a top-ranked American sprinter for the LSU Tigers' track and field team, is one of football's top sprinters, and is known as one of the sport's top sprinters. He demonstrated his sprinting skills in the 100-meter dash at the 2007 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, where he finished in 10.07 seconds, ahead of Walter Dix and second only to Tyson Gay. He was eligible for the 2007 World Championships in Athletics, but he chose not to participate in the LSU Tigers instead, opting to start the football season. He continued to run, but in the 100 meter at the 2008 United States Olympic Trials the following year, he reached the semi-finals.

He broke Xavier Carter's school record and became the Southeastern Conference 100 m champion in his first year at LSU in 2007. He set a personal record in the semifinals and finished runner-up to Walter Dix in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship later this year. He finished third in the 100 meter NCAA final and led the 4100-meter relay team to victory in 38.42 seconds, the fastest collegiate time ever run.

In 2005, Track and Field News has Holliday, who is the country's top indoors, with a 5.19 over 55 meters indoors.

Professional career

Trindon Holliday had hoped to smash Chris Johnson's record of 4.24 in the 40-yard dash, leading up to the 2010 NFL Scouting Combine. Holliday had self-reported running times as fast as 4.21, which seemed to be logical given his extensive track record and the fastest 100 m dash time of any football player in NCAA history. Reports of Holliday's 40-yard dash time ranged from 4.18 seconds to 4.34 seconds at the combine, according to the reporter. NFL scouts had clocked Holliday at 4.21 hours per hour during the workout, according to Adam Schefter, an ESPN reporter on hand at the game. However, the NFL Network broadcast team set a new record for Holliday's two attempts at unofficial times of 4.27 and 4.32, respectively, before finally releasing it as 4.34 seconds.

In the sixth round of the 2010 draft, the Houston Texans drafted Holliday. Despite his speed, Holliday had trouble with kickoff returns in the preseason. Because of a fractured thumb, he was put on IR. He was cut and then drafted into the practice squad on September 3, 2011. On October 5, his practice squad service was terminated and he was later added to the active roster, but the waiver was canceled on October 25. He resigned and returned a kickoff touchdown against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1 of the 2012 preseason. He returned a punt for a touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers next week. Holliday scored his third touchdown in four games against the Minnesota Vikings in his final preseason game; this was his third touchdown in four games; this was his third touchdown in four games; it was a 76-yard punt return. Holliday made the Houston Texans 53-man roster and was the starting punt and kick returner following the 2012 preseason. In a bid to support an injury-plagued defense, the Texans were notably cut off from the Texans on October 10, 2012. Holliday was released for a reason due to his fumbling difficulties. In 2012, Trindon fumbled the ball six times, but only one of them was successful.

The Denver Broncos claimed Holliday off waivers on October 11, 2012. On a punt return in the first quarter of the game, Bronco Joshiday fumbled and lost the ball on his first game as a Bronco on October 15. On November 4, 2012, he ran 105 yards for a touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals, breaking the Broncos record for the longest play. He had a Carolina Panthers punt for 76 yards on November 11, 2012. Despite the ball's fumbling on the 1 yard line, the play was ruled a touchdown. During the regular season, Holliday's teams went undefeated. He began the season with the Texans who were 5-0 when they cut him off. He was then signed by the Broncos, who finished the regular season 13-3 with an 11-game winning streak.

In the first quarter of the game against the Baltimore Ravens for a 90-yard touchdown, Holliday punted for the first time in postseason history. He returned a kickoff for a 104-yard touchdown during the third quarter of the game. In the same postseason game, he became the first player in NFL history to score a punt return touchdown and a kick return touchdown. He had 256 total punt and kick return yards, but the Broncos lost 38-35 in double overtime.

In week 2 against the New York Giants, Holliday returned a punt 81 yards for a touchdown. In week four against the Philadelphia Eagles, he ran off 105 yards for a touchdown.

Trindon Holliday held at least 11 Broncos franchise records as of 2017's NFL off-season, including: :
