David Hoare (pictured) a notorious paraglider who was fined almost £3,000 for operating lower than legal boundaries and nearly hitting a father and his son on a beach in Lyme Regis, Dorset. Hoare, 67, is known to locals for similar offences committed throughout the south west of England, including twice attempting to fly into the world-famous Glastonbury Festival. Hoare had flown dangerously after he failed to appear in court and left no mitigating evidence last week, according to prosecutors. The local flying groups have characterized Hoare as "an absolute public nusiance [who] dirties the names of handgliders" and "an oxygen thief." A local gliding coach said, 'It makes you want to throw pebbles at him.'
