Toni Garrido Life

Anto de Silva Filho, born September 7, 1967 in Rio de Janeiro), also known as Toni Garrido, is a Brazilian singer, television presenter, and actor. * He is the lead singer of the reggae band Cidade Negra. Garrido was adopted by the owner of a middle-class apartment in Copacabana, where his biological mother used to work as a maid. Garrido began playing guitar at church services, and after receiving positive feedback, he decided to pursue a musical career. * He met three acquaintances and formed the (now defunct) Banda Bel. In 1994, he was invited to Cidade Negra as the lead singer. They became one of Brazil's most popular bands, blending reggae, soul, and pop rock. * Garrido left Cidade Negra at the end of 2010 in 2008 but rejoined it later. Garrido plays Orfeu, a 1999 Brazilian film directed by Carlos Diegues, and he also sung the soundtrack.
