PC Tom Phillips, 33, of Croydon, south London, faces five charges of violation of the Communications Act 2003. The officer, who is part of the Met Ops team, was disqualified from attending his case management hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court this morning. A new trial management hearing was scheduled for November 18 for the prosecution to disclose the expert evidence. Between April 8 and May 8, 2021, Phillips denies five charges of delivering a message that was "grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene, or menacing character." His trial has been postponed until January 24, 2023. The officer was off duty at the time of the suspected offences and was barred from service.
