Tom Middleton Life

* Tom Middleton is an English experimental recording artist, music producer, remixer, and DJ. Middleton, a classically trained pianist and cellist, appeared on the Analogue Bubblebath EP in Exeter's renowned Mighty Force Records in the early 1990s (with whom he identifies the same birthdate). * This was followed by his first solo outing, "My Splendid Idea," under the same name Schizophrenia. He and Mark Pritchard met soon after, and they soon joined up. * The pair appeared under a variety of pseudonyms, including the well-known Reload (featuring experimental techno and ambient music), Global Communication (mainly ambient), and Jedi Knights (electro funk and house music), as well as Mistograms (electro funk and house music), as well as smaller aliases Chameleon, Secret Ingredients, and Link & E621. * Global Communication's 1994 ambient album 76:14 is widely regarded as a landmark of the genre. Evolution is also known as Evolution (Crewekerne) by the pair, who is often referred to as Evolution (Crewekerne) to distinguish it from other record labels with the same name. * Evolution and Warp Records published The Theory of Evolution in 1995 as a collection of early evolution information. * The label was later changed to Universal Language Productions and introduced Heard, a sublabel, before finally ending operations. * The labels were first introduced by artists such as Matthew Herbert, as well as Middleton & Pritchard in their various forms. Tom's solo projects include The Modwheel (experimental house music), Cosmos (progressive house music), and AMBA (ambient/classical). "Take Me With You," Cosmos' most popular track as of 2006, was his most popular track. * Middleton dropped the AMBA moniker in 2007, though still focusing on the ambient genre, which fuses classical roots with electronica, featuring orchestral, choral, and electroacoustic arrangements. * Excursions 1, a new EP, was released on September 10, 2007, but Lifetracks, the album Lifetracks, was released on Big Chill Recordings on October 1, 2007, under the name Tom Middleton. He is both a producer, remixer, and DJ who often goes far beyond house music and electronics to introduce seemingly disparate musical styles together. * This approach was the best evidenced in his 2004 mix The Trip, which the BBC described as "a journey of discovery full of originality and eclecticism." In 2008, a Trip II was published as a sequel to The Trip II. Both mixes were released as part of two separate mixes Between 2014 and 2016, Tom Middleton compiled a number of 'Purple Playlists' for YOTEL, a micro hotel chain.
