Sarah Palin's attempt to make a political comeback has ended, with the 58-year-old governor of Alaska losing to Democrat rival Mary Peltola - the first Alaska Native to serve in the House. Peltola had 51.5 percent at the time of the election, with Palin having 48.5 percent. Peltola tweeted on Wednesday evening, 'It's a GOOD DAY,' Peltola posted on Wednesday evening, reminding her followers that the seat was only valid briefly until the November elections.' We've won tonight, but we're still going to have to hold this position in November,' she said. 'Donate today to help us make it happen.'

Sarah, who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump, is one of three candidates for Alaska's sole seat in the United States House of Representatives in November. The former governor of Alaska, who died earlier this year, is running against Republican Nick Begich III - the grandson of a former Democratic congressman who occupied the position - and Democrat Mary Peltola, a former lawmaker. The three candidates are also competing to finish the two-year term of late Representative Don Young, who served for 49 years before his death in March at the age of 88. On August 31 and the winner will be announced on August 31 and serve until the end of the year. Sarah's political comeback comes 14 years after she was selected to be late Senator John McCain's running mate on the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, placing her and her family in the public eye. Todd, 55, married Sarah, a 55-year-old man, first appeared in court documents on Monday, according to court records, first spotted by Alaska media outlets on Monday, the 55-year-old Todd officially filed for divorce from Sarah, who was also 55, last Friday in an Anchorage courthouse.
