Another major Australian music festival has been cancelled in a devastating year for the already struggling entertainment industry. Birdsville Big Red Bash 2025 will not be going ahead next year, with event organisers saying the festival will be put on pause until 2026. The event, dubbed the most remote music festival in the world, is staged at the Big Red Dune 35km west of Birdsville in the Simpson Desert and has been operating continuously since 2013 before Covid lockdowns. 

The Hotel Esplanade, or as it is more commonly known as "the Espy"), is up for auction in Melbourne, but not for a song. The landmark seaside hotel in St Kilda's southeastern suburb has a $70 million price tag, making it the most expensive bar to ever be sold in Victorian history. A buyer will receive 12 bars on four levels, two restaurants, beer gardens, and two live music venues, a large slice of rock 'n' roll history.

On Friday night, Jessica Mauboy wowed audiences by storming the stage at Night At The Barracks in Manly. At the Sydney festival, the 33-year-old designer belted out a number of her chart-toppers, including "Running Back" and "Burn." The actress put on an energetic performance and hopped around the stage, much to the delight of the adoring audience.
