As players continue to press for the change, the NFL will possibly have to pay almost $12 million to convert all of its artificial fields to grass. Fourteen fields (and 16 teams) currently use an artificial playing surface at their stadium, and a growing number of players have expressed their preference for grass. According to Front Office Sports, making the change would cost the league will be costly, with totaling the tab at $11.9 million.
