Teo Ser Luck Life

Teo Ser Luck (born 8 June 1968) is a Singaporean politician.

He has served as a Minister of State at both the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry for Manpower, as well as as the Mayor of Singapore's North East District. (PAP) is a member of the People's Action Party (PAP).

Since 2006, he has been a Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Pasir Ris-Punggol Group Representation Constituency. On May 26, 2017, he resigned as Mayor of North East CDC and as Minister of State on June 30, 2017.

Education

Teo attended Rosyth School, Victoria School, and Nanyang Junior College before graduating from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with a Bachelor of Accountancy degree in 1992. He then went on to complete a postgraduate degree at Temasek Polytechnic.

Teo is a former president of the Old Victorians' Union, Victoria School and Victoria Junior College's alumni body.

Nanyang Technological University's "Outstanding Young Alumni Award" was given to him in 2007. (NTU).

Career

Teo began as Vice President and Managing Director at Menlo Worldwide from 1995 to 2005 after working with Nike Singapore and Coopers & Lybrand. He served as both Country Manager and General Manager at DHL Express Singapore from 2005 to 2006. In 2007, Teo was recognized as a "Young Global Leader" by the World Economic Forum for his contributions to the company and community services industries.

Teo was first elected to Parliament in 2006 as a member of the Pasir Ris–Punggol Group Representation Constituency (GRC). The PAP team, led by Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean, defeated the Singapore Democratic Alliance's staff by 113,322 votes (68.7%) to 51,618 (31.3%). Teo represents the Punggol Central ward of Parliament.

Teo was appointed as a Parliamentary Secretary at the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports following his election (MCYS). He was promoted to Senior Parliamentary Secretary in 2008 by the Ministry of Transport and the MCYS. In 2009, he assumed the position of Mayor of the North East Community Development Council.

Teo has served as the Chairman of the National Youth Council and as the Chairman of the Young PAP (the youth wing of the party). In addition, he was instrumental in the establishment of the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010. He was involved in Singapore's triumphant bid for the games and was an advisor to the organizing committee.

At the 2011 general election, Teo was re-elected as an MP for Pasir Ris–Punggol GRC. He was named Minister of State at the Ministry of Trade and Industry following the election. He continued to serve as Mayor of the North East District.

Teo appeared in the Channel 8 drama Pillow Talk, where he talked about his love in 2012.

Teo resigned as Mayor on May 26, 2017 after his term came to an end and he also resigned as Minister of State on June 30, 2017 as he had intended to return to the private sector. He served as the MP for his constituency until 2020, but did not campaign for the 2020 Singapore general election.

He has been serving on the boards of the following companies since public office: BRC Asia Limited, Serial System Ltd, China Aviation Oil (Singapore) Corporation Ltd, MindChamps Preschool Limited, and Straco Corporation Limited.
