Simone Kessell has signed on for season two of Yellowjackets. In the psychological thriller that focuses on the survivors of a tense plane crash, the 46-year-old will join compatriot Melanie Lynskey. Lottie Matthews will appear as an adult, as well as Australian actress Courtney Eaton who portrays the role as a youth.

On the forthcoming season two of Showtime's hit series Yellowjackets, Lauren Ambrose is supposed to be a series regular. Vanessa 'Van' Palmer, the 44-year-old actress, will appear in the adult version of the character, whose teen counterpart is currently played by Liv Hewson. Hewson, 26, 26, was also confirmed on the network on Thursday that he was a regular on the show. Ambrose appears on the show after an appearance in HBO's Six Feet Under, where she starred for five seasons and earned her two Primetime Emmy Award nominations.

Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, co-creators, told TheWrap that production will begin in August: "It's a deeply serialized story, and we wanted to make sure we didn't hurry it and we got it right."
