After taking KRATOM, a 39-year-old Carpenter from a wealthy Oregon suburb died of 'violent seizures,' as a family sued a KRATOM shop that sold it for $10 million

Matthew Torres (pictured) and his long-time girlfriend Meghan Gates were together in Beavercreek making hand-crafted decor items that he would share with relatives and acquaintances. Mr Torres was discovered "foaming at the mouth" by Ms Gates in Oregon's wealthy Clackamas County. Mrs Torres managed CPR until emergency responders arrived, but he was declared dead on May 27, 2021, a month before his 40th birthday.

As Bozeman city manager is caught on hot mic branding the mayor a'small town **********', Montana's AirBnb wars erupts, sparking a fight over wealthy second home owners and rentals

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 1, 2024
Bozeman, Montana's idyllic town has been embroiled in a housing crisis since the pandemic, with local officials now disagreeing over whether or not Airbnb should prohibit rental agencies. The feud this week was heating up as the city manager Jeff Mihelich was caught on camera this week flaking out at Mayor Terry Cunningham, slamming the mayor as a "small town ****." The leaked video emerged after a meeting between local Bozeman chiefs on Tuesday, after which Mihelich stayed on the phone with Anna Bentley, the director of community development, while the others left the Zoom. After the meeting ended, Mihelich erupted: 'And I said, is this good enough Terry?' We'll never get over because one person in the neighborhood, a small town ****, says we'll never get over.' We shouldn't say we're doing well,' he said. According to critics in Bozeman, online platforms such as Airbnb are contributing to a housing crisis, since wealthy homeowners in Montana continue to push prices higher by purchasing second homes and renting them out for high markups. While the mayor has fought the platforms and intends to implement the ban, Mihelich seems to be growing dissatisfied with the town's growing economy.

The AirBnb wars in Montana erupted, with Bozeman's city manager branding the mayor as a "small town ****" after the war over wealthy second home owners and rentals

Bozeman, Montana, has been embroiled in a housing crisis since the pandemic, with local officials now debate whether to embrace the economic boom or prohibit rental companies like Airbnb. This week, the spat out as the city manager Jeff Mihelich was caught on leaked Zoom video this week, criticizing the mayor as a "small town." The leaked video emerged following a meeting between local Bozeman chiefs on Tuesday, after which Mihelich stayed on the phone with Anna Bentley, the director of community development, while the others left the Zoom. After the meeting ended, Mihelich erupted: 'And I said, is this good enough Terry?' 'Because we have one person in the neighborhood, a very small town ****, that we can't get over,' we can't.' We don't think we're doing enough,' he said. Residents in Bozeman say that Airbnb is causing a housing crisis because wealthy homeowners continue to raise prices by buying second homes in Montana and renting them out for high markups. Although the mayor has fought the platforms and intends to implement the ban, Mihelich seems to be getting frustrated by the delays in raising the town's economy.
