During a Climate Summit in New York on Thursday night, Bloomberg revealed his succession plans, saying that it had 'common sense' to have thought about it at the age of 81. When he dies, the CEO of Bloomberg L.P. and former New York city mayor Eduard Brown (bottom right) said the firm will be inheriting the corporation. Bloomberg, who revealed plans to retire in three to five years, said that due to tax reasons, the charity would have to sell the business over the first five years. His remarks came on the day that fellow billionaire Rupert Murdoch revealed that he would step down as chairman of Fox and News Corp after 70 years, with second son Lachlan chosen by his father to take over the family's media dynasty. At the Climate Summit hosted by the New York Times, Bloomberg, who lives in New York with his partner Diana Taylor (top right), said, "I should have succession plans at 81 years old, with common sense."
