Buddy Teevens, the pioneering Ivy League football coach who brought robotic tackling dummies to Dartmouth's practice, died on Tuesday of injuries related to a bicycle collision in March. He was 66 years old. In a letter sent to the Dartmouth community, school president Sian Leah Beilock and athletic director Mike Harrity announced Teevens' death. Our families are devastated to tell you that our beloved 'coach' has peacefully passed away surrounded by family.' In a letter to Dartmouth, the Teevens family said that the injuries he suffered were too painful for even him to recover.
