The Royal Family were behind the times when Windrush Day was established in 2018, with the Queen attending Ascot rather than the inaugural service at Westminster Abbey. Charles was in Salisbury on official business, William was off work, and Harry was in Lesotho. The King, who is determined to keep as many foreign thrones as he can, is now determined to do better.

Philippa Langley was convinced by her 'funny feeling' that she was standing on Richard III's missing grave

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 9, 2022
Richard III's discovery in a Leicester council car park in 2012 made international news. Shakespeare's crookback a flamboyant villain and suspected murderer of his younger nephews was a byword for tyranny for centuries. Now the amazing tale of how his body was discovered has been turned into a film, The Lost King, co-written by Steve Coogan and Jeff Cope and directed by Stephen Frears, the team behind Philomena. Sally Hawkins (Mrs Brown in Paddington), as Philippa Langley, Edinburgh-based amateur historian who discovered the king's body, was included in the 'Oscar-worthy' performance. Langley, who had been to Leicester to study a screenplay about Richard III, had a compulsion to step into the adult social services parking garage. It was a strange feeling.' My legs and feet are like something coming up through my legs and feet. I felt almost sick as it got bigger and stronger,' she says. The letter "R" appeared underneath my feet.' It was clearly for "Reserved" on the inside, but I felt I was standing on Richard's grave.'

BRIAN VINER discusses The Lost King - a mother who helped uncovers king's remains in a parking lot

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 7, 2022
BRIAN VINER: Philippa lives in Edinburgh, where she works in a dreary sales role and is rejected for promotion. You are at the right level for you,' says her condescending boss. She looks as though the King is speaking directly to her when she and her son attend a Richard III revival. Richard (Harry Lloyd)'s stage version starts arriving in visions, a feature that may seem quaintly archaic, but director Stephen Frears makes it work. Philippa's implication is straightforward: she might be a middle-aged divorcee stuck in a miserable career, but she identifies with this 15th-century monarch as well as the fact that he does with her.

In Stephen Frears' latest film In Stephen Frears's latest film The Lost King, the true story of Richard's body, led by determined amateur historian Philippa Langley, is told. Philippa was a long-serving member of the Richard III Society, the group that maintains Shakespeare's portrayal of the king as an evil hunchback was a blackening of his character in order to win over Tudor Queen Elizabeth I, whose family had fought Richard's for the throne.

Richard III's hunt is a conflict

The Lost King, a film about Richard III's (portrayed by Harry Lloyd, pictured left) bones underneath a Leicester parking garage in 2012 (the former burial place is shown bottom right). Philippa Langley's film, which premiered in the United Kingdom yesterday, is based on the unforgettable and moving tale of Philippa Langley (played by Sally Hawkins, pictured top center), 60, a film-maker and amateur historian. In an interview with writer Stephen Coogan (pictured top right) and filmmaker Stephen Frears in an interview with the entertainment website Collider at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month, Langley is delighted with the film. In addition, Coogan and Pope said that the film was accurate and truthful. However, the academics and others interested say that some of the film have no connection to the truth, and that major portions of it contain such obviously deliberate lies that at least one of them has retained libel lawyers.

On Season 6 of "Out of Respect" For Queen Elizabeth II, "The Crown" is suspended

www.popsugar.co.uk, September 9, 2022
The cast and crew of "The Crown" are taking a moment to mourn Queen Elizabeth II's death. According to writer Peter Morgan, the royal, who died on Sept. 8, will suspend production on its sixth season indefinitely. "The Crown" is a love letter to her, and I have little to add for now," he wrote. "I hope we will stop filming out of respect," says the filmmaker. Stephen Daldry, who supervised four episodes of "The Crown," told the journal that if the queen dies while the Netflix series was in production, it would halt filming for a respectable length of time. "No one of us knows when the time will come," he said in 2016. "It'd be a simple tribute and a mark of honor." She's a global celebrity, and that's what we should do. . . She's an extraordinary woman, and no one will be upset." When the sixth season of Netflix has been announced, it has not yet announced when it will be released. POPSUGAR reached out to Netflix for feedback, but did not receive a response right away.
