The 64-year-old monarch told People: "I'm really proud of my wife." Charlene's doing really well... As you can recall, last year was a tough one for her and also the start of this year.' Albert said after being admitted to a Swiss medical center for exhaustion and keeping out of the limelight, Charlene, 44, has been 'active in a variety of social occasions.'

Charlene, a Zimbabwean-born woman, spent ten months in South Africa last year after suffering a severe sinus infection while traveling alone on a solo charity trip. Her mother was hospitalized and she was delayed in returning to Monaco due to the disease (left). However, when she did return, she sought medical attention for 'exhaustion' right away (top inset). She has since paid a number of public visits, most often joined by her children Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella (main) and husband Prince Albert. However, she returned to public service earlier this week after her husband's historic burial in London, where she was joined by 2,000 mourners at Westminster Abbey (right).
