Otis Burt "Sonny" Shroyer, Jr. (born August 28, 1935) is an American actor who has appeared in a number of television and film roles. He is best known for his role as Deputy Sheriff Enos Strate in the television series The Dukes of Hazzard. * He also appeared in Enos, a short-lived spin-off based on his Dukes of Hazzard appearance. Chris and Mark, Shroyer's husband, are married and have two sons. Shroyer was born in Valdosta, Georgia. He attended Florida State University on a football scholarship, but his time was cut short due to a injury. He earned his degree at the University of Georgia.
