Career
In 1976, he attended the Zagreb Academy of Dramatic Art. He began his acting career in "Gavella," one of Zagreb's most popular theaters. He was given the Vladimir Nazor Award in 1992 for his role as Caloguero di Spelta in the drama "Velika magija." He was also rewarded with the Croatian Radio Television Award for playing the character of "Crni D" (Black Jack) in Smogovci, a very popular children's TV show. He appeared in short films in Croatia, including Ajmo uti (2001).
Brankov indulged in an affair with a teenage girl with whom he stayed until his death. Brankov died of a malignant disease that was treated at the Clinic for Lung Disease in Zagreb.
