ALVISE CAGNAZZO: We have only just entered the final month of the Serie A season, but the league title was officially decided this weekend as Inter Milan claimed their 20th Scudetto. Simone Inzaghi's men wrapped up the championship in exactly the way they would have wanted, beating arch-rivals AC Milan 2-1 on Monday night - which piled pressure on Rossoneri boss Stefano Piolo (inset left). Inter's early coronation has in part been due to Juventus's collapse in the second half of the season, and they were held to a 2-2 draw on Friday by relegation-threatened Cagliari. Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen (inset right) and his Napoli side hit a new low with their loss to Empoli.

Marcus Thuram trolled AC Milan, by draping his Inter Milan shirt over their rival's corner flag, after he scored to help Simone Inzaghi's side seal a 2-1 victory at the San Siro, a win which saw them be crowned Serie A champions.  Joyous scenes erupted at full-time after Inter secured their 27th victory of the season in the Derby della Madonnina, with Inzaghi's side having stormed to the league title - losing just once in Serie A this season.  The victory means they are now uncatchable at the top of the table, having gone 17 points clear of Milan, who are second, with five games left to play. 

Inter Milan are Serie A champions are for the 20th time after they beat their city rivals AC Milan in an ill-tempered match at the San Siro.  Simone Inzaghi's side needed a win to ensure the title, and they looked like they were on their way to a comfortable three points after goals from Francesco Acerbi and Marcus Thuram. AC Milan though made it nervy for their bitter rivals after Fikayo Tomori scored with ten minutes plus stoppage time remaining.

Inter Milan have become the latest side to be linked with a potential Saudi Arabia takeover, according to reports.  Despite sitting atop the Serie A table, with a 14-point lead on rivals AC Milan in second place, the Nerazzurri are still experiencing some financial struggles. Last season, the club reportedly instructed advisors to start the search for potential buyers after showing losses of around £120m (€140m).

TOM COLLOMOSSE: Simone Inzaghi, who came so close to winning Inter Milan's first Champions League title since 2010, has vowed to return to the octagon to face them this season. Juventus, on the other hand, lost to the pace after being stunned by Napoli in a week befuddled by the announcement of Paul Pogba's four-year ban for doping.

Inzaghi, who are currently in second place in Serie A by nine points, is having a whizzzling season in the dugout at Inter Milan. Barca considers him a potential replacement for Xavi, who is retiring at the end of the season, but the Premier League is also a tough opponent. Inzaghi has been in the San Siro's hot seat since July 2021 and has earned a reputation as one of Italy's most astute bosses.

Simone Inzaghi's side extended their lead in the top of the Serie A table to four points on Sunday, beating Genoa 1-1. Thiago Motta's Bologna continued to impress as they defeated Jose Mourinho's Roma 2-0, while Napoli defeated Cagliari 2-0.

Inter Milan fought Napoli to jump ahead of Serie A as a result of a spectacular long-range attack by Hakan Calhanoglu, Simone Inzaghi's side won by a landslide on Sunday. This season is the start of a new one for France. He has already demonstrated that he is irreplaceable in this team after his stunning finish to make it 2-0 to Inter in the derby.

Folarin Balogun, Arsenal's top striker, is still Inter Milan's number one striker after losing their interest in Atletico Madrid's Alvaro Morata. Following a fruitful season on loan at Remis in Ligue 1, Balogun returned to the Gunners, but the club has been linked with a permanent move away from The Emirates. Inter Milan have made the American international their first-choice target as they look for a new forward, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. The Italian side had started the window attempting to find an understanding with Chelsea to bring Romelu Lukaku back to a permanent contract, but negotiations fell earlier this month, leaving the Belgian in limbo. Simone Inzaghi turned his attention to Atletico's former Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, but the club has turned away from a contract for the Spaniard.
