Want to climb Everest?Leave your yoga tent at home!Nepalese authorities vow crackdown on luxury setups clogging up base camp

Officials are worried that the base camp, which is 17,598ft up the Himalayan mountain, is getting too crowded amid a rise in the number of tourists. The space on the base camp is overwhelming for luxury holiday companies such as glamorous chalets, Wi-Fi, and bespoke dining. The dome-shaped tents have carpeted flooring, wooden furniture, and ensuites, and some are only used for recreational meditation and massages. Other facilities that were not built in the camp were strictly commercial, including a bar, bakery, cafes, and even a museum.
