Following Letby's (left) arrest for killing seven children and trying to murder six others, Cheshire Constabulary said the police is investigating the Countess of Chester Hospital (right). The probe, according to detective Simon Blackwell, will look at the period in which Letby carried out her killing spree (June 2015 to June 2016) and look at those in'senior leadership' roles at the hospital.

Stephanie Davies, an investigator who worked with Cheshire police under the coroner's watchdog, authored a 179-page paper stating that there were significant similarities in the lives of couples in North West England between 1996 and 2011. She gave her employers, Cheshire Police, and a list of other experts a copy of her study, before being banned by the police. Miss Davies suspected at least two cases to be the work of a serial offenders because of their similarities in her book describing inconsistencies in the initial police investigations, which led to widespread mistrust.
