Two months after Dick Van Dyke, 97, announced his guest appearance on Days of Our Lives, soap opera's elder statesman Bill Hayes triumphantly celebrated his 98th birthday with cast and crew on stage at The Burbank Studios. During his time as he appeared on Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca's fifties variety show, Your Show of Shows, the silver-haired soap star was treated to a 'delicious' double-chocolate cake topped with black icing and emblazoned with a portrait of himself.
