Charlotte Footner (left), a toddler who was kicked by a startled horse in Victoria's Macedon Ranges, faces an uphill battle to recover from head and brain injury. Last month, the wounded child was rushed to the Royal Melbourne Children's Hospital (right) and will have to relinquish basic skills such as walking and talking. Brett and Rachel, Charlotte's parents, had to take time off work to care for their child, so a community fundraising page was created to support the child's costly bills.
