www.dailymail.co.uk, March 27, 2024
After a 'testing couple of months,' Alex Scott was honoured for her broadcasting work at the Royal Television Society Awards on Tuesday, she came dangerously close to quitting the television industry. At the dinner in London's Grosvenor House Hotel, the Football Focus host was rewarded with the Sports Presenter, Commentator, or Pundit prize. Alex, who won with partner Jess Glynne, gave an eloquent speech on her Instagram Stories addressing the challenges she encountered as a black woman in a male-dominated industry.

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Bond girl is desperate for the portrait of herself by late lover 'the Loins of Longleat'

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 16, 2024
EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: He was blessed with inheriting the magnificent Longleat, his stately family seat in Wiltshire, as well as a sprawling estate of more than 9,000 acres, after his father died in 2020, aged 87. However, Ceawlin Thynn, Bath's 8th Marquess, would not be human if his late father, Alexander, had lived in a slightly more orthodox manner from time to time. Ceawlin is now plagued by the inevitable fractures caused by the man's confession that he had 75 couples, or wives, as he wanted to call them after his 1969 marriage to Hungarian-born actress Anna Gael, who has never divorced. Now that I can recall, Longleat's balustrades are being rattled by one-time Bond Girl, Jamaican-born bombshell Sylvana Henriques, many decades after she first attempted to photograph Alexander.

Prue Leith reveals she was called 'the posh b**ch' by disgruntled Bake Off fans after replacing Mary Berry - and admits 'funny and natural' husband John Playfair could upstage her on new show

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 15, 2024
It's difficult to imagine The Great British Bake Off without Prue Leith's presence on stage, but the host admits that her entrance to the program was far less assured. When the show moved from its original BBC home to Channel 4, the South African TV star was drafted in as the much-loved Mary Berry replacement in 2017. Fans were similarly unimpressed by the change, with original judge Berry leaving the show and original host Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc replacing them by Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig.

AMANDA PLATELL: Harry's silence over his father and sister-in-law Kate shows he has never been more isolated

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 19, 2024
AMANDA PLATELL: What a surprise to learn on Wednesday that both the Princess of Wales and the King were undergoing intensive medical care. Kate, we learned, had already undergone abdominal surgery, requiring her to stay in hospital for up to a fortnight, and Charles will soon have a 'procedure' for an enlarged prostate. But not half as shocking as it should have been for Prince Harry, who reportedly didn't know about Kate's or even his father's health until he saw media bulletins. According to reports, Buckingham Palace has made every attempt to notify all senior members of the Royal Family, including Harry. However, the public announcement of Charles took place at 3.2 p.m. in California, which is 7.25 a.m.

Sandi, who married psychotherapist Debbie Toksvig, told the Cambridge Union: "I don't want to be too serious." I have had a lot of death threats lately. When we got married, my wife and I were required to have a close protection cop alongside me. It's still underway.'

Bake Off has given Bake Off a new kick thanks to Noisy Alison's boundless enthusiasm: CHRISTOPHER STEVENS reviews last night's television

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 4, 2023
CHRISTOPHER STEVENS: Alison Hammond's appearance on The Great British Bake Off (Ch4) is a reversal of new blood for Lord of the Goths Noel Fielding. Matt Lucas and Sandi Toksvig, both comedians with differing styles, had a positive rapport with him. However, La Hammond isn't a stand-up. She has an old Telly Personality. Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith don't appear to have an idea what Alison is like. She is overwhelming them. But Noel's sheer energy and vigour are making him laugh out loud, and that gives this series, the 14th, a new lease on life.

Susan Rae said the BBC was her family; Now she has dementia, she has a feeling that they'cut her adrift.'

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 7, 2023
Susan Rae's voice does not appear in the great list of things she has lost - her work, her house, and vast swaths of her memory - but it does not appear. Her thing that characterized her has survived, and she has thrived. You'll have heard it. It may have brought you to sleep. Only a handful of radio announcers have been entrusted to produce Radio 4's legendary Shipping Forecast, the nearest thing we have to a national lullaby. Susan has done it best, according to some. I think how lovely it would be if she stopped worrying about horrible things - Alzheimer's, nearly setting the house on fire, feeling abandoned by her former employers - and instead gave a soothing 'Rain' followed by squally showers. Moderate is losing money, while poor is deteriorating.'

You're better off with Master Chef PATRICK MARMION's review. The Great British Bake Off Musical is a film that was shot and sold in the United Kingdom

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 10, 2023
PATRICK MARMION: The Great British Bake Off Musical (Noel Coward Theatre, London) Verdict: Half-baked sugar rush Bake Off or Master Chef?Sweet or savoury? We're certainly Master Chefs in my household. Not because we're such good cooks, but because our contestants are not supposed to be so unhappy. By comparison, Bake Off is a sugar-based feelgood candy, but this half-baked dramatic spin off proves lethically saccharine and culpably inane.

In the midst of rumors about his future, Jeremy Clarkson competes in the Bahrain Grand Prix

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 5, 2023
As reports that ITV were lining up people to replace him as host of the famous quiz show, Jeremy Clarkson was seen at Jeremy Clarkson's 'first Formula One race in years'. And although ITV denied this, Clarkson's current boss, who 'forced out Piers Morgan,' said that the network has "no future commitments" to Clarkson following this season. It came following outrage over Meghan Markle's remark in a column in December, when he said he wished she'naked through the streets, but now people throw 'lumps of excrement at her'. But these issues seemed far from his mind today, when he appeared in a good mood at the Formula 1 in the Middle East today, where he said he was excited to be back.

JAN MOIR: Why is the BBC ashamed of its radio golden oldies, however loved they are?

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 19, 2023
JAN MOIR: Every morning, nine million of us tune in, soothed by his lowering presence and his peaty voice, with a hint of malt whisky bubbling over the smooth pebbles of pop. And now this! We're losing Ken, we're losing PopMaster, as well as the fluttering ribbon of contestants who have competed for many years. And no, not just for the chance to win a smart speaker or a CD wallet, but also for the opportunity to chat with Ken himself.

The workhouse and Gothic cathedral in Norfolk have been converted into a £3.25 million family home

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 28, 2022
The heart of Norfolk's countryside has been turned into a £3.25 million workhouse after being left to ruins for nearly 70 years. Thursford Castle has been turned from an overgrown site to a five-bedroom house. The 3,649 sq ft home in Great Snoring was constructed 200 years ago and has already accommodated 250 people as the Walsingham Union's workhouse. However, the remaining 30 prisoners were moved from the home in 1930 until the workhouse was closed down in 1930. Despite the fact that the former workhouse was later used as a smallpox hospital, it was not until Mark and Sally Hickling purchased it in 2013. It took over a year to clear the site, and then another 18 months to complete the building project. The property is situated in more than five acres, with mature woodlands, a small paddock, and lawns. In a year, the couple lived on the property and made £100,000 before putting it on the market.
