How To Have Sex tells the tale of three teen girls on a coming-of-age trip to Malia in all of its gritty, grim, and deep detail, and is already being lauded as a big hit. Despite a relatively unknown cast and a debut for Molly Manning Walker, 30, it received the Un Certain Regard award at this year's Cannes Film Festival with an eight-minute standing ovation. It's been lauded for its sensitive and raw treatment of real-life challenges that many young women face, including toxic relationships and sexual assault, as well as not being believed by authorities such as the police. The film's haunting realness comes straight from the horse's mouth, being partially inspired by director Manning Walker's own experience of sexual assault at the age of 16.

Molly Manning Walker's (right) directorial debut impressed critics and took the top prize in the Uncertain Regard segment of this year's Cannes Film Festival with an eight-minute standing ovation. However, under Manning's glitzy accolades lies a more disturbing truth, considering that the film is loosely autobiographical. Tara is the protagonist in the picture to the left, played by Mia Mckenna-Bruce and Paddy, played by Samuel Bottomley.

Though he is uncertain about his post-school choice, he does know that his ride will be exhausting and thrilling. To prepare for the role, he began by familiarizing himself with Jamie Campbell's true life story on which the film and the original stage adaptation are based.
