Samantha Ronson Life

Samantha Judith Ronson (born 7 August 1977) is an English DJ and singer-songwriter who lives in Santa Monica, California.

Early life

Ronson was born in Camden, London, to writer/sociate Ann Dexter-Jones and one-time music executive and real estate investor Laurence Ronson.

Her parents divorced when she was six years old, and she and her siblings, mother, and her mother's new boyfriend, Mick Jones, migrated to New York City, where her mother later married Jones.

Ronson was born in Conservative Judaism and has ancestors from Austria, Russia, and Lithuania. Ronson's family name was originally Aaronson, but her grandfather Henry Ronson changed it to Ronson.

She is Gerald Ronson, the niece of property tycoon Gerald Ronson. Ronson is related to British Conservative politicians Sir Malcolm Rifkind and Leon Brittan, as well as Odeon Cinemas founder Oscar Deutsch. Mark Ronson's older brother is a singer and guitarist; Charlotte, her fraternal twin sister, is a fashion designer. Kenneth and Annabelle, as well as Henrietta, David, and Joshua (by her father's marriage to model Michele First) are two younger half-siblings of Ronson, including Kenneth and Annabelle, who were born as a result of her mother's remarriage to Mick Jones. By Mick Jones' previous marriage, Ronson has two step-brothers, Roman and Chris Jones. Mick Jones, Ronson's stepfather, grew up to a childhood surrounded by music.

Ronson was educated at the Chapin School on Manhattan's Upper East Side. At New York University, she then concentrated on creative writing and philosophy.

Personal life

Ronson denied allegations that she is a lesbian, insisting that she dates both women and men.

Ronson did appear on the Queery podcast in February 2022, where she said she had struggled with accepting her sexuality for years. She also announced that she now identifys as gay.

In 2007, media outlets began reporting about Ronson and actress Lindsay Lohan, who were seen as affectionate in public. Several newspapers, including The Times and the Los Angeles Times, have published opinion columns describing their marriage as intimate. Lohan refrained from focusing on the details of their friendship, saying she prefers to "keep her personal life private," she told her publicist. Ronson said in a September 2010 interview with The Times that she adores Lohan as a human being, but the paparazzi interest grew to be too much.

Ronson and Foster were a couple in June 2011 after Ronson was pictured with music producer David Foster's daughter, actress and writer Erin Foster. Ronson has never expressed any other information about his marriage other than to state that he is not single.

Ronson has claimed that she fell into DJing by chance. "I received a call one night from a club where I used to hang out at, saying, 'Do you want to DJ?'" Ronson recalled. Ronson took the job and quickly made a name for herself, and DJing soon became a full-time gig. Today she spins at some of the world's most glamorous gigs. "I grew up in the studio with songs," she said in an interview with American Songwriter. My stepdad wrote some of the most beautiful songs on record. Mark Ronson, a producer and singer, produced his albums because he likes making music. So, the expectation was set pretty high for being true to what you want to do. I'm not going to hand over my music to a producer; rather than settling yourself into someone else's box," I feel like when you're doing what you love.

Wale on "Summer of Sam" and "Slash" on the album, as well as Alex Greenwald of Phantom Planet on "Captain Jack" and Slash on "Love Song."
