The San Francisco Supervisor wants the program to be handled by the 'Office of Reparations', which would include an additional $50 million

Shamann Walton, the San Francisco supervisor who first raised the issue of reparations in February 2020, has requested a $50 million 'Office of Reparations,' rather than the massive lump sum. The African American Reparations Advisory Committee (AARAC)'s recommendations - 111 in total - include a $5 million lump sum to every eligible black person; a $1 house; and a $30,000-per-year guarantee for 250 years. After the AARAC's final report, the board will not decide whether or not to adopt the recommendations until later this year. Another meeting has been postponed for September.

'This is unrealistic and disgusting': Former BLM activist slams San Francisco reparations plan

Xaviaer DuRousseau, a conservative activist who used to promote BLM and who lived in the Bay Area, said San Francisco's reparations scheme was ridiculous and ineffective. DuRousseau said he saw the campaign as part of a drive to'indoctrinate' black Americans into dependency. 'This is 111 ways to gaslight black Americans into thinking that we should be reliant on a system of handouts in order to be successful,' DuRousseau, who has previously written about being raised a Democrat and then'seeing the light.' The African American Reparations Advisory Committee's (AARAC)'s recommendations include a $5 million lump sum to every eligible black person; a $1 house; and a $27,000-perpetual income for 250 years. Hillary Ronen (right), a member of the board, told the audience: "You have my full support and commitment to implementing all 111 of these recommendations,' a member of the board.' They are all justified.'

San Franciscans line up at board meeting to sing and shout their support for a reparations plan

The Board of Supervisors of San Francisco held its first meeting on Tuesday to hear the public's thoughts on a redressal bill, which would see the struggling city give out cash to black residents. 'My dad always told me not to beg,' Sgt Yulanda Williams (main), the president of the Police Association Officers for Justice, told them.' I am not begging you today. It's time for you to do the right thing and make us whole.' Aaron Peskin (top left), the chair of the Board of Supervisors, has previously stated that the African American Reparations Advisory Committee chaired by Eric McDonnell's $5 million proposal is unworkable. 'But that should not stumble into a discussion about how this society and its government can solve the past's problems,' he said. San Franciscans gathered on Tuesday to take the mic and address the Board, with some of them singing their support. Sam Cooke's 1964 Civil Rights anthem performed one verse, "A Change is Coming."
