Ronnie Moore Career

Managerial career

Moore joined Oldham Athletic in March 2005 after many years at Rotherham, helping the club avoid relegation. He led Oldham to a mid-table finish and the League One Manager of the Month Award in December 2005, but he later parted the club with Oldham ostensibly due to poor season ticket sales.

Moore was immediately given a job as the boss of Tranmere Rovers, which he accepted. Chris Shuker and Paul McLaren started his Tranmere as coach by bringing in nine players in the close season, including Chris Shuker and Paul McLaren. In his first year as coach, he saw the team finish ninth in League One, though Tranmere had hoped to earn a play-off spot for the majority of the year. Tranmere's second year as president, he could only finish 11th despite being top of the table earlier this year. Many Tranmere followers affectionately referred to Moore as "Ronnie Raw" due to his humour.

Moore will begin as boss in September 2009, assisted by fellow teammate Jimmy Mullen. Ronnie was introduced to the Millers faithful at the home game against Barnet on the following day, to a rousing applause. Rotherham beat the game 3–0. Moore's time at Rotherham was mixed; he received the League Two Manager of the Month Award in November 2009 and the team's trip to Wembley for the League Two Play-Off Final, but the Millers lost 3–2. Moore left the club "by mutual agreement" in the aftermath of a 5–0 loss to Chesterfield in March, with Rotherham 6th in the table, and the 2010-11 season began with similar success. His inability to land Rotherham's spot in the play-off spots for the second season in succession was largely blamed for his second departure.

Moore made his second return to a former club following Les Parry's dismissal, and the Tranmere Rovers manager was hired until the end of the season.

Moore was under scrutiny by The Football Association for violating its rules against betting on sports in which his club was involved, according to the Football Association on February 14, 2014. The club announced that he had been suspended with immediate effect as a result of the FA probe three days later. Moore was charged by the FA with alleged multiple violations of betting on matches on Monday. Moore denied the charges on 8 April and demanded a personal hearing. "Tranmere Rovers will not tolerate any activity that jeopardizes this football club's credibility," he was fired on April 9, 2014; the club said, "Tranmere Rovers will not accept any action that harms the club's reputation."

Moore was appointed as Hartlepool United's manager on December 16, 2014, on December 16th. Hartlepool were at one stage ten points behind at the bottom of the Football League and seemed to be dooming, but Moore sparked a revival in form, with the squad winning their first four matches of the season, effectively removing Moore's former club Tranmere Rovers from the Football League, despite relegating Moore's former team Tranmere Rovers from the Football League. For the last game at Carlisle, he and the 2,500 other traveling fans completed the season.

Moore left Hartlepool by mutual agreement on February 10th, 2016.

Is this the 'worst refereeing call ever?' Fans slam 'astonishing' decision to give West Brom a penalty for hand ball during win vs Rotherham... after the ball hit Lee Peltier OUTSIDE the box

West Brom claimed a 2-0 victory against Rotherham on Wednesday night in controversial circumstances, after a penalty was awarded against Millers winger Lee Peltier for hand ball, despite the ball striking him outside of the box.  Carlos Corberan's side tightened their grip on a spot in the play-offs, with Brandon Thomas-Asante putting the hosts ahead after 23 minutes, netting his 12th goal of the season from close range.  On the stroke of half-time the Baggies would double their lead with John Swift scoring from the spot to seal the win.

WINNERS: The joy of a father and son at their first game... and winning! KIERAN GILL, a newspaper published in the United Kingdom, treats baby Ezra to Hartlepool away, resulting in a glorious success despite the nappy changing

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 21, 2024
KIERAN GILL: The half-time report by Ezra is accurate. The game is aimless, the football is frustrating, and there's a familiar stench emanating from his nappy. Poonami is a form of poonami. Son, you have a fantastic summary. You're getting the hang of supporting Hartlepool right now. This is Ezra's first game of football, his initiation to the Monkey Hangers, and his introduction to my profession and passion. We're back in the away end at Kuflink Stadium after a tour of Ebbsfleet's Kuflink Stadium to find a baby-changing table, with the help of the National League's courteous stewards who organized an impromptu search team - we're already in the second half.
