Ron Silliman (born August 5, 1946) is an American poet.
He has written and edited over 30 books, as well as having his poetry and criticism translated into 12 languages.
He is often associated with lexical poetry.
Silliman wrote The Alphabet, a single poem from 1979 to 2004.

Life and work
Silliman attended Merritt College, San Francisco State University, and the University of California, Berkeley, but was left without a degree. For more than 40 years, he lived in the San Francisco Bay area.
He has taught in San Francisco State University's Graduate Writing Program, as well as at Naropa University and Brown University in shorter stretches.
Silliman has served as a political planner, a lobbyist, an ethnographer, a newspaper editor, a director of innovation, and as the executive editor of the Socialist Review (USA). While in San Francisco, he served on numerous community boards, including the 1980 Census Oversight Committee, the Arson Task Force of the San Francisco Fire Department, and the State Department of Health's Task Force on Health Conditions in Locale Detention Facilities. Silliman began work as a market analyst in the computer industry before retiring at the end of 2011.
Silliman describes his poetry as part of his lifework, Ketjak (the word refers to a specific form of Balinese dance drama based on an ancient text). The first poem of The Age of Hutts, "Ketjak," is also the name of the first poem. If and when complete, the entire project will be comprised of the Age of Huts (1974–1981), Tjanting (1979–1981), Universe (2005–).
Silliman and his two sons, Colin and Jesse, reside in Chester County, Pennsylvania, where he and his wife Krishna resided.
