The 2024 BAFTA TV Awards saw a slew of stars awarded with prestigious prizes at The Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday night. But the ceremony itself failed to come out on top in the battle of the ratings, as it was only the fifth most watched programme of the night. According to overnight reports, the star-studded show - which aired on BBC One - had an average audience of 2.6 million and peaked slightly higher, at 3 million - the lowest in two years.

Romesh Ranganathan has opened up about his mental health, as he explained helping others to deal with their own issues has motivated him to take part in the London Marathon on Sunday. The comedian, 46, has been left suicidal in the past having been through some incredibly turbulent times.  And he has now challenged himself to run the Marathon in aid of mental health charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).

Pro-Palestine protesters have targeted the London Marathon by demonstrating along the route of the event in the capital. Activists have been seen waving Palestinian flags as they gathered at the security barriers which line the 26.2-mile course this morning. Organisers had urged pro-Palestine and Israel demonstrators not to disrupt the Marathon and to focus on 'coexistence and togetherness' amid the conflict in the Middle East. It came after police massed in central London ahead of the event, which will see 50,000 professional and amateur runners take to the streets of the city. Photos taken in the early hours of Sunday morning show police securing the route with sniffer dogs in operation, as well as stewards congregating before the first race got underway at 9.05am.

Claudia Winkleman gave Romesh Ranganathan her blessing as he took over her BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday. Comedian Romesh, 46, took on the Saturday morning slot from Strictly Come Dancing and Traitors presenter Claudia, who left the station last month. Former host Claudia, 52, who spent 15 years on air for BBC Radio 2, struggled to fight back tears as she wrapped up her final show at the end of March.

Romesh Ranganathan nervously took over Claudia Winkelman's slot on BBC Radio 2 on Saturday.  The comedian, 46, kickstarted the show by claiming 'we all will miss Claudia' after she announced she was leaving the programme in December last year.  The host, 52, who spent an astonishing 15 years on air, struggled to fight back tears as she wrapped up her final show at the end of March.

Garry Richardson, a presenter for BBC Radio 4's Today programme, has departed after 43 years with his last show on September 9 - exactly 50 years since the corporation was established. Since his departure was announced, the news reporter, 68, who is known to millions as he reads headlines from around the world, released an emotional remark. "I have had the most wonderful time working for the BBC alongside my heroes from sport and showbusiness," says the author.

For its seventeenth series, an iconic BBC quiz show has been revived, and its well-known comedian host will return. The Weakest Link began in 2000 and ran for eleven seasons before its cancellation, over a thousand episodes later in 2010. In 2017, a Children In Need special episode aired, and the show was revived with a complete set in 2021, followed by another special in 2022. Anne Robinson was the program's host through its initial run, its 2017 revival special, and Romesh Ranganathan soon after. Its revival comes just days before the new series is due to end, having started in November 2023.

Following Ralf Little's (centre) surprise departure from the show, a number of actors have been rumored to appear in Death In Paradise. In Sunday night's episode, actor Neville Parker said farewell to the island of Saint Marie, causing viewers to weep. The BBC then confirmed Ralf had left the show after the finale aired, with the actor taking to Instagram to share: 'The secret's out! My time on Saint Marie has come to an end. But, what an end!'
