Sir Anthony Hopkins has joined the cast of Those About To Die, the forthcoming Peacock series based on the book that inspired the 2000 film Gladiator. According to a Deadline article on Wednesday, the 84-year-old Welsh actor would portray Emperor Vespasian in the epic period drama directed by German director Roland Emmerich, 67. The series was based on Daniel P. Mannix's 1958 book Those About To Die, which served as the inspiration for the Gladiator film starring Russell Crowe, 58, as Maximus.
